The furniture drawer which is mounted in a rectangular frame is provided with a base plate (6) which at its free ends is held by one or more parallel mounted section bars (7) connected at their free ends to the opposing frame shelves (1, 3) on the supporting furniture frame. These section bars (7) which are shaped from sheet metal are pref. trough-shaped with their section opening pointing towards the base plate (6) so that a closed impression is achieved from the underneath of the drawer and there are no protruding sharp edges. The dead space beneath the base plate of the drawer is reduced whilst the stability and load capacity of the drawer is increased although the overall structure remains relatively light. |
