A yieldable reinforcement (e.g. wire mesh) may be incorporated into the mixture before setting, for example in layers which may lie in planes perpendicular to the intended direction of load application. The material may be in the form of blocks which may be assembled into chocks. In the case of chocks, yieldable reinforcement (e.g. wire mesh) may be included between the bearing surfaces of the blocks in a plane normal to the direction of intended loading and further yieldable reinforcement may be provided around the blocks.</p> |
