Ceiling mounting pipe support - has rubber sound and vibration damper maintained in compression by pipe weight

A support for fixing pipes to ceilings is described. It provides acoustic and vibration isolation between the pipe and building structure. An outer metal cage (11) is fixed to the ceiling by a captive nut (22) and has an opening in its lower face, through which a threaded (28) sleeve (12) projects, to support the pipe. A flange (27) on the inner end of the sleeve prevents it from falling through the opening should the rubber (13) anti vibration medium fail. The rubber is moulded on the sleeve and projects through the opening in the cage all around the sleeve, thus completely isolating sleeve and cage. Since the rubber is always in compression, under the weight of the pipe, such supports have longer life than the normal variety and the flanged sleeve provides a fail safe design.
