<p>A manual tool with a refractory heating element is used which is supplied with electric pulses when a foot pedal is operated. The foot pedal is also connected to a switch actuating a brush used to clean the heating element on the end of the tool. The brush is mounted on the supply box, and is actuated when force is not applied to the foot pedal. The switch providing the heating current is pref. fitted with a strong spring and the switch actuating the brush with a weaker spring. The bottom of the heater element pref. has a groove placed round the wire being soldered; and a magnifying glass, made of insulating material, is fixed on the bottom end of the tool near the element, esp. using a plastic lens. A spirit level is pref. fixed on the top of the tool. Used e.G. for soldering wires coated with a Sn-Pb alloy to printed circuit boards for attaching electronic components; or for mfg. flat packs; or for repairs.</p> |
