An apparatus feeds a sliver band to the loosening roller of an open-end spinning unit. The feed plate, which is movable and loaded with >=1 spring in the direction of the feed roller, has >=1 guide surface at the side lying against a fixed sliding surface. The design gives a feed plate which has no pivoting action so that it provides an accurate feed, and which is easily assembled and dismantled.
