<p>1471338 Dry shavers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 24 April 1974 [27 April 1973] 17926/74 Heading B4B A rotatable cutter 5 for use in a dry-shaver comprises a plurality of blades 19 rigidly secured to a body portion 18 in which is formed a rectangular aperture 10 for the reception of a driving pin 7 of the dry-shaver, the cutter including a thrust bearing member 23 having a surface for engagement by the driving pin, and at least one opening 21 for the escape of shaving debris. The driving pin is secured to a coupling member 6 having a flange 11 for driving engagement with a gear 13 rotated by a motor 16 via a pinion 17. When the cutter 5 is mounted in the shaver as shown in Fig. 1, the end of the pin 7 engages with the thrust bearing member 23 which, as shown, is formed integrally with an annular portion of a member 20; the portion 24 is provided with depressions 25 for securing the bearing member to the cutter by spot-welding. In modifications, the bearing member may be formed integrally with the body portion 18 of the cutter or the member may be formed separately and joined at its ends to the body portion.</p> |
