<p>A non-binding shaft seal assembly is provided for liquid flow detectors, as in alarms for sprinkler systems. Such detectors have a pivoted shaft projecting outward from a casing bore opening to be sealed. Pivoting of the shaft is facilitated by the sliding of a washer against a Teflon facing. Provision is made for passing air through the seal when the system is drained, to avoid blow-out or rupture.</p> |
