A pilferproof closure cap 9 of thin ductile metal comprises a top panel 10 and an outer skirt having an upper inner -threaded part 11 and a lower locking band-17 which engages with the container shoulder and has vertically disposed weakening lines 18 formed therein which rupture on removal of the closure, thus dividing the locking band into segments, Fig. 4 (not shown), which flare out by the cam action of the container shoulder. The upper 11 and lower 17 closure ports are separated by a peripheral line of slits 14 and alternately wide arid narrow bridges 16, 15 thus ensuring that the flared segments of the locking band 17 will remain joined to the closure 9. The lines 18 may be formed as score lines or slits. Cam surfaces or angled lugs may replace the screw-threads on the cap.</p> |
