The elastic shaft coupling connects the rigid hub of one shaft to another shaft through a sleeve with an elastic torque transfer device. There is an annular groove (12) in the hub (10) of one shaft. The radially inner end of each rubber wad (13) of roughly elliptical shape sits in this groove. A hole (16) through each wad (13) is aligned with a bore (14) in the sleeve, allowing a connecting rod (15) to pass through. A circular band (18) is bolted to the ends of all the rods (15). An outer ring (20) is similarly bolted through holes (25) in the elastic wads (13) to a coupling flange (22) with a shoulder (28) against which the wads fit. A step (31) in the surface of the flange (22) facilitate coupling to the drive shaft.
