The interfitting parts of the syringe and the cannula mounting are arranged so that when the cannula is in position the syringe cannot be rotated relative to the cannula. The interfitting parts of the cannula mounting and the protective housing over the cannula are arranged so that the cannula can be rotated relative to the housing. Pref. the syringe can be rotated through an alge of 360 degrees relative to the cannula. The protective housing can be removed from the cannula by a twisting motion, removing the risk of breaking the seal between the cannula and syringe.
