<p>The novel diazo pigments are of formula (I): (where A is a divalent aromatic residue of the benzene, naphthalene or diphenyl series; R1 and R3 are H, Cl, Br, alkyl, alkoxy, NO2, CN, alkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonyl, carboxyl, carbamoyl, sulphamoyl, N-substd. carbamoyl or sulphamoyl, carbalkoxy or quinazolonyl opt. substd. by Cl, Br or NO2; R3 is H or X is -O-N-C(R)-, -N=C(R)-O- or -O-C(R)= N R being opt. substd. aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic gp.). (I) are red pigments for p.v.c. polyethylene and polypropylene, and for lacquers and printing pastes. They are also suitable for spin drying e.g. viscose and for colouring phenoplasts, aminoplasts, thermoplasts, laminated paper and sheet and textile printing.</p> |
