<p>A floating cover for a liquid storage tank comprises inter-connected concentric rings each of which is made from a series of interfitting foamed plastics panels. Each panel is in the form of an isosceles triangle, one long side of which is grooved and the other long side of which is formed with a corresponding projection to allow interconnection of adjacent panels long side to long side. The short sides may similarly be grooved or ridged toallow interconnection of rings of panels. The panels are of such a size, e.g. long sides of 4 ft 8 inches and short sides of 16 inches to allow them to go through an access opening and be assembled within the tank. The covers are cheap, easy to make, light and find particular use in liquid hydrocarbon storage tanks.</p> |
