<p>A circular disc (1) is fitted to the mechanism of the machine by a shaft. On each side of the disc is an arm (5) pivoted at its lower end (9, 9') to a bracket (4) on the machine frame. Each arm has a pivot (10) used to hold a mounting (3) for a soft pad, one opposite each disc face. The upper end of each arm has a pivoting nut (7) and a length of threaded rod (11) joined to a central wheel (12). Rotating this wheel moves the arms to increase or decrease the pressure of the pads on the disc. A scale indicates the amount of pressure.</p> |
