VERFAHREN ZUR HERSTELLUNG EINES ZYLINDRISCHEN MATRIZENKOERPERS

A cylindrical matrix is made for the electrolytic prodn. of round screens, esp. templates for rotary screen printing. Numerous indentations are made or engraved in the periphery of a metal cylinder to match the screen network; the surface of the cylinder is electroplated to obtain a thin metal layer with a rough surface. The webs between the indentations are ground smooth and the upper edges of the indentations are lightly stamped so they are also smooth. The entire surface is then electroplated with a wear resistant metal and the indentations filled with insulating synthetic resin. The screens obtd. from the matrix can be used in printing works or for mfg. printed circuit boards or heater foils. The working life of the matrix is twice that of a conventional matrix and the accuracy of the screens obtd. is not impaired during the increased life.
