<p>The layers, about 1-10 mm thick and consisting of polyester resin mixed with marble flour, pigments etc. are mfrd by casting the still-liq. resin contg. hardener, pigment, activator etc., in places onto the carefully machined surface of a model, and then distributing the resin compsn. in desired thickness over the surface of the model, with the aid of a vibrator oscillating at low amplitude and immersed in the resin. The amplitude of the vibrator is pref. between a few tenths of a millimeter up to several mm, pref. 1mm. Also claimed is bath tub with base made of suitably shaped thin imitation marble which has hard-foam backing, pref. a polyurethane foam backing. Panels of any desired shape may be produced.</p> |
