The fixing arrangement is used for fitting components on doors. The fitting has a sprung lower part which projects beyond the door mounting plate edge. When the fitting is screwed on the door then the fitting edge is pulled tightly against the door surface and preloaded. This fitting is held firmly over long periods of time and ensures firm connection even if the timber door shrinks. The head of the fastening screw (6) engages with the flexible sprung support plate (9). The latter has a wave or zig zag form edge. The supporting plate (9) is made from a profiled plate with a web (10) for connecting it to the bearing sleeve (8) for the handle nut.
