An engine ignition system has two ignition coils in parallel such that the positive terminals are joined together, but that there are two negative connections and two primary circuit output connections. The leads are independently connected to the capacitors and hence to the do bel contact breaker points. The remainder of the circuit consists of the distributor and lead connections to the spark plugs. The connector allows the power to go to both capacitors. The double ignition leads prevent failure of the spark plug due to failure of the circuit.
