<p>An adaptive control module provides compensation for the effects of reflected waves in a data transmission system. The transmitter (10) generates a signal (s1(t) over a line (11) and a transmission link (U1) to a receiver (14). The reflected signal is transmitted (15) over a transmission path (U2) identical with the outgoing path (U1). The reflected signal (s2(t) is summed (A) with the output of a filter circuit (F) to compensate for the signal distortion and an ideal signal (s3(t) is generated. The filter control is effected by multipliers (M), integrators (I) and an amplifier (V) with variable gain ( ). Three conditions are applied for amplifier gain control, using three formulae which incorporate the amplitudes of the three signals and a unimodal function.</p> |
