Laminated carpet underlay - comprising plastics foam separated from loose fibre mat by compacted thin fibre mat

A carpet underlay consists of two external layers which are firmly joined by an intermediate layer acting as a reinforcement. One external layer is made of plastic foam and the other is a loose fibre mat; the intermediate layer is a greatly compacted thin fibre mat. The composite combines springiness with good sound and heat insulation. Carpet cannot slip on a smooth floor or creep. Underlay has high wear resistance and durability and can be produced cheaply.
