1514990 Transformers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 17 Oct 1975 [21 Oct 1974] 42695/75 Heading HIT A high voltage transformer 10 has a low voltage winding 2 of metal foil and a high voltage winding 7 which may be moved with respect to the low voltage winding 2 in the region A of its magnetic field to vary the inductance between the windings and selectively tune the transformer for minimum losses. A space is allowed between the end of the low voltage winding 2 and the yoke 4 for the adjustment to be performed. Alternatively (Fig. 2, not shown) the low voltage winding may be split into two parts separated by a gap over which the high voltage winding is situated for adjustment. The foil winding may consist of an insulating foil, e.g. "Mylar" (Registered Trade Mark), wound together with a metal foil.
|
