The accumulator battery has an easily exchangeable plate assembly which is characterised by that each plate has an upward directed flap, and that the individual plates, are arranged into groups. Each group is partitioned off on each side by an insulating layer while a pair of current rails extends in a longitudinal direction across the plate arrangement and is fastened to the contact flaps of the plates, of a positive and a negative pole group. The current rails are integral cast with contact clamps into the carrier plate. The battery housing is subdivided at least into two chambers, with one chamber open on top for accepting the plates and the other chamber closed on top for accepting the electrolyte. |
