<p>Bottle crate for holding and conveying bottles containing beverages through bottle cleaning machines comprises a foam plastic wall (5) in which is embedded a metal supporting structure (3, 4) and in which recessed compartments are formed. Pref. each compartment comprises a cell wall (8) consisting of a thin-walled tube of which the ends project beyond the surfaces of the plastic wall. The lower end of tube in the region of the bottle opening is pressed inwardly in a starlike or undulating shape to form a conical section (8a) forming flushing channels for return of cleaning fluid. The supporting structure may consist of inlays extending between end plates with attached support straps, and the surface of the plastic wall may be reinforced with e.g. glass fibre mats (11).</p> |
