Preferred pyran derivatives are 3, 4-dihydropyrans such as 3, 4-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-ylmethanol or 3, 4-dihydro-pyrans containing a substituent having an unsaturated linkage alpha, beta to a carbonyl group. The pyran derivative may be formulated with a gelatinous carrier, a cosmetic cream, a hair lacquer, a cold wave composition, a lipstick composition, a talcum powder, a soap, a shampoo, an ointment, a gaseous or gasifiable propellant or a cat litter. Optional ingredients are perfumes, absorbents, solvents, emollients barrier agents, healing agents, and aerosol propellants. Examples describe compositions for use as hair sprays, room deodorants, hand creams and deodorant/soaps. |
