<p>The tape recorder and replay unit has two spools (14, 16) and two driving motors (20, 40). The first motor has a belt drive (22) to a tape feed arrangement, the frictional force between the feed roller (26) and a pressure rod (24a) being adjustable and balanced by a spring (38). The second driving motor (40) is mounted on an oscillating mass (42) situated between the two spools and with the axis of the driving motor (40) on the line joining the axes of the spools. Concentric with the second driving motor spindle is a toothed pinion (40a) forming a gear drive associated with another pinion on a driving roller (44) in contact with one of the spools. The oscillating mass is loaded by a spring (46) fixed at one end, and moves in response to contact switches (34, 36a, 36b; 48a, 48b; 50a, 50b) in circuit with a battery.</p> |
