The die for calibrating lead bullets consists of a cylinder (2) of hardened high alloy steel with a stepped bore. The upper part of the bore is polished to match the diameter of the guide ring (5) around the cast bullet (4). The middle section of the bore corresponds to the diameter of the punch (3) which has an extension of reduced diameter. The bullet (4) is compressed by the piston (1) which is forced by a press onto the upper end of the bullet. The punch (3) is then used to remove the bullet from the die (2). The device can be used by amateurs who make their own bullets and fit them into re-used cartridge cases.
