<p>The vacuum switch consists of a hollow cylindrical insulator closed at one end by a metal plate carrying the fixed contact (2). The other end of the insulator is closed by a plate (6) carrying a movable contact (12). This plate (6) is vacuum sealed, through flange rings, to the insulator. Outer ends of contacts are threaded and can be screwed into conductors. A threaded pin (3) is provided on the outer side of at least the fixed contact (2). Its outer end has a shaped recess (4). The mounting of the switch on the high rated electrical conductors (7, 10) is carried out on both sides by tightening a nut (9) against a washer (8).</p> |
