<p>The extrusion or straightening press has a run-through pressing table in a frame structure with two rows of tool carrying rams fitted in the longitudinal direction. By hydraulic control two adjacent rams can always be connected or disconnected by a mechanical coupling assembly. The coupling assembly consists of a slide connected with a shackle (9) and with further corresponding guides (10), fitted on adjacent rams (5). The shackles (9) are fitted with blocking wedge surfaces (11) and their complementary blocking wedge surfaces (12) are on the guides (10). The blocking wedge surfaces (12) are forced against each other by a sliding wedge mechanism consisting of wedge (20) which during its downward travel forces apart the upper arms of the shackle.</p> |
