A data transmission path for industrial trucks (F) is designed in such a way that the cable sheathing is removed in a four-wire path-side cable (K) on the provided communications points (KE) and the conductors (H1, H2, R1, R2) are formed into short loops for inductive coupling with the antennas (A) of the trucks (F). The cable (K) is connected between the communication points (KE) in such a way that parallel-connected wires are in each case used as forward conductors (H1, H2) and two wires are used as reverse conductors (R1, R2). The planes in each case formed by the two wires are perpendicular to one another. The cable (K) between the short loops is thus unaffected by irradiated electromagnetic interference and is, however, easier to lay than, for example, a twisted pair. <IMAGE>
