An automatic clay pigeon launching system designed for competition use has a set of microphones corresponding to the firing positions and linked by a control circuit to a corresponding set of clay pigeon launching devices. Apart from the starting signal from the microphones, the sequence of operations is carried out automatically, eliminating human error. The control system includes an amplification and switching arrangement, in which the audible signals are converted into electrical signals which are calibrated in length and amplitude, a counting system, memory, a visual controller for the phase generator and a programmer. The control system automatically cancels the launching operation of a clay pigeon if there has been no shot fired previously. The programme is changed at the end of a series of shots.
