The regulator, for electric cooking plates, consists of a sensor in the lid of the cooking pot and a transmitter to transmit a switching signal to a receiver mounted on the cooker itself. The receiver then switches off the heating supply. The transmitter is supplied from a battery (33). The sensor responds to the heat released by condensing vapour from the cooking pot and triggers the transmitter at a given point. The transmitter and receiver are not connected by wires as in 2161371. The regulator is simplified and made more reliable if the sensor comprises a temp. sensitive resistor connected into a blocking oscillator.
