The hydraulic motor is of the type comprising axial pistons (12) and a double-ended through-shaft (1). The shaft carries swash plates (2) to control piston movement, and ported plates (6) providing fluid inlets and outlets. The port plate may have ring grooves (7, 8) to serve as ducts for the fluid. The pistons may be contained in cylinder drums (9) firmly connected with the housing block, which drums have guides (11) for the piston heads (14) and an annular groove through which the ball track of the swash plate extends. The piston may have a head (14) with ball cup, connected by an axial bore with the cylinder.
