<p>1532954 Polycarboxylate cements NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 14 Oct 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 46022/74 Heading C3P A poly(carboxylate) cement pack, which forms a cement when admixed with water, comprises (i) a water-soluble poly(carboxylic acid) or a hydrolysable precursor thereof, (ii) an aluminosilicate or fluoraluminosilicate glass containing 0 to less than 8% by wt. of fluorine and having an acidic to basic oxide wt. ratio of 0À1 to 3À0, and (iii) a water-soluble chelating agent. Component (i) may be an acrylic acid polymer or a copolymer of acrylic and itaconic acids, and component (iii) is for example tartaric acid. The product is useful in dentistry and orthopaedic surgery, as a grouting cement, and as a binder in foundry sand casting.</p> |
