摘要 <p>In the support of a series thrust bearing mounted along a rotating shaft and riding on stationary bearing tracks mounted on a corresp. series of support plates, the mutual alignment and load-sharing of the support plates is ensured by pairs of rods mounted on a stack of balanced levers supported on opposite sides of an ancillary thrust plate. The plates are keyed against rotation by an adjacent rod. Alternatively, the thrust is transmitted down the root of the shaft via a series of split collars, each of which divides the thrust between the adjacent rotary bearing and the next stage of the shaft root by a ratio depending on the relative differences in the radial spacing of bearing rods on support faces of the collars from road acting as a fulcrum on the thrust faces of the collars. Used for supporting the thrust of screws for e.g. extrusion of plastics or rubber materials, esp. of multi screw machines with limited space between adjacent screw axes. Automatic thrust equalisation prevents successive pref. overloading of individual bearings, by uneven distribution of an acceptable max. design working thrust, allowing bearrings to be designed as small as possible and hence adjacent screws to be as close as possible. In the first design, the balance rods may be spaced to leave recesses subtending an angle of up to 110 degrees on each side of the screw root, again allowing closer position of adjacent screws.</p>
