The contact mat forms part of an anti-intruder alarm system for a building and incorporates contact lines and connection lines for the alarm device. Each of the contact lines is formed by two electrical conductors (6), which are coupled together to close the current circuit for the alarm device, when pressure is placed on the mat. The two conductors (6) are adhered to the inner surfaces of two insulating webs (4, 5) which are joined together around their edges and at predetermined points, so as to define a number of hollow pockets containing the conductors (6).
