Automatic tray loading device onto trolley - uses pushing elements to move trays from intermediate support rack

The device for loading trays or similar objects on to a trolley is intended e.g. for food distribution in a hospital etc. The trays arrive on a conveyor and are transferred by a pushing element (5) into an intermediate storage rack (6). The rack comprises a number of support pairs (61) mounted and movable on vertical side columns (7). The trays are then pushed in groups from the rack to the trolley by pushing elements (8, 9), e.g. pneumatically operated. These devices operate alternately, and have a long and a short stroke so that two vertical arrays of trays can be formed in the trolley. The device can be extended to have two systems working side by side.
