<p>The spindle drive is particularly for stop valves, the nut travelling up and down the spindle, and coupled to the valve drive shaft crank arm, to transmit approximately 90 deg. of movement to the latter, the nut working on one or more guide bars so as to absorb radial forces acting on the spindle. The bars are supported at top and bottom in holder flanges. These have annular bosses acting as bearings for the spindle fitting concentrically to it in the housing spindle bore, and can be rotated about the spindle axis. The bars can fit in through holes bored in the flanges, extending nearly as far as the rough-cast inner wall of the housing.</p> |
