<p>The angled connecting unit, exp. of the T-shaped type, is used for joining the filler bars and top or bottom rail in a balustrade or guardrail. Slit-shaped openings are provided at the points of connection, on the side of the top or bottom rails facing the filler bars. The bars can be inserted into these, with lugs at their ends, and can then be clamped in their final position, at one end at least, by means of a bolt or clamp connection. The lugs may be an integral part of the bars, and may be conical or rounded-off in shape, and also fitted with round or rectangular holes. The handrail and/or base rail may be in the form of hollow or open shaped-section units, and the top one may have a lengthways running bolt channel underneath. The form of connection is simple and inexpensive, with no reduction in stability.</p> |
