The ink feed arrangement for a portable labelling machine has a carrying arrangement which can pivot against the printing face (12a, 12b) and is operated by a lever (3). An inking roller (25) mounted in the carrying arrangement has a roller surface which is charged with ink. In one position of the carrying arrangement, with a pair of supports at the ends of the inking roller preset the next position of the inking roller. At a second position of the carrying arrangement a pair of guide rails (33) on the machine frame and a pair of guide rollers set the inking position relative to the printing face.
