1466417 Heated rollers MORRISON MACHINE CO 24 Oct 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 46108/74 Heading F2U A heated drum comprises an outer wall 4, an inner wall 11 defining an annular space 12 between it and the outer wall and longitudinal barrier means 30, 31 defining flow and return passages for heat transfer medium, the inlet means and outlet means for the medium being adjacent one end of the drum. Fluid (hot oil) is supplied through an axial passage 6, through outlets 37 to radial passages 20 which communicate with an annular feed plenum 22. From feed plenum 22 the oil passes out through apertures 23, distributers 24 and apertures 25 to the flow passages 45 (Fig. 5) from which the oil passes to return passages 46 and apertures 32 to an annular return plenum 26. From plenum 26 the oil passes through radially inwardly extending return channels 20 to flow out through a coaxial pipe 5 as shown in Fig. 2. The outer wall 4 may be of cast iron or steel.
