<p>The non return valve (1) for supplying washing machines with water, is operated by a screw type valve spindle (17). The internal end of the spindle locates a compression spring (24) which forces the valve plate (9) against the valve seat (8). The valve can be installed in line with the water pipe, so that most of the valve body is below the wall surface (26). When the valve spindle (17) is screwed outwards, the spring pressure on the valve plate (9) is reduced and the water pressure is able to force the valve open. If the valve outlet pressure is above the inlet water pressure, the valve plate is pressed against the seat (8) thus a return flow of water is prevented.</p> |
