<p>1513457 Oscillating carriers/adjustable plural grippers E BUHRER 30 July 1975 [31 July 1974] 31944/75 Headings B8A and B8H Transfer apparatus comprises article clamping means carried by a support mounted on an upstanding member which can be raised and lowered and rotated about a vertical axis, the clamping means comprising clamps 153, 154 mounted on carriers 147 which are movable horizontally and can be locked in position relative to the support member comprises a housing 33 enclosing a member part 35 supported for rotation in bearings and connected to a gear wheel 43 which meshes with a segment-shaped toothed drive 44 which is oscillated by means of a motor 51 via cranks 49, 48. The part 35 carries rollers 54 which engage air springs to damp its deceleration. A piston rod 70 is supported by the part 35 and carries a frame 140- 144. Raising and lowering of the piston 70 is damped by a damper (79, Fig. 8). As described, the apparatus is for the transfer of mould boxes and moulded articles 5, the clamps 153, 154 being pivoted by cylinders 155 to engage faces 156, 157 on a moulded article. The carriers 147 are held in position by piston rods extended by cylinders 164, 165. The support frame also has pivotal jaws 174 carried by shafts 173 rotated by cylinders 171 and adapted to engage lugs 179 on frames mounted on mould boxes. Finally jaws 193 are pivoted by cylinders 188 to grip a sprue pattern 187. The apparatus transfers the goods between a conveyer 9 and a pattern device 2 fed to a moulding machine 1 by a conveyer 3 and then returned to its original position. The pattern device has an undersurface which may be connected to a source of compressed air or to a vacuum source via valves 16, 17.</p> |
