In a valve for a hot-water apparatus, all the functions can be achieved by rotating a single operating handle. Use is made here of a ceramic disc control mechanism in which the control disc (3) is arranged eccentrically with respect to a fixed valve seat disc (2) and, with a single control hole (31), travels over and, when required, interconnects the axially parallel holes (24, 25) in the valve seat disc leading to and from the apparatus, an outlet hole (23) and a centrally arranged fresh-water inlet hole (22). An approximately concentric control hole (31) in the form of a segment of a circle with a segment angle greater than 90 DEG is provided in the control disc (3), the size of this control hole (31) and the eccentricity with respect to the valve seat disc (2) being chosen such that, as the control disc (3) is rotated, it travels over the holes in the valve seat disc. <IMAGE>
