A thin, water-tight insert (5) which is made of plastic film material and is surrounded by a housing (6) is inserted in the cooking vessel (1) with a lid (3). The housing (6) stands on a spacer (7), has openings (9) and is centred by spacers. By pouring water (10, 11) into the cooking vessel (1) or into the insert (5) and boiling it the food is prevented from depositing on the base and on the walls of the cooking vessel (1) and is cooked. Since the disposable insert (5) is not in direct contact with the heating source, it does not need to be made of a particularly heat-resistant material. <IMAGE> |
