<p>The mouldings are cut from a plank held stationary, using a milling cutter movable transversely and guided by a rail. Where the moulding is straight, the plank selected can have a thickness approximately equal to the moulding width, the moulding being shaped and parted off on edge. Where it is not, the plank thickness can be approximately equal to the width of the moulding which is cut out with the plank lying flat. A carriage slides above the work table horizontally, having a cross-member acting as a horizontal slide for the motor and vertical spindle cutter, also a feeler arm acting against a horizontal guide rail on the machine frame between the truck slides and above the truck.</p> |
