<p>An electric motor drive unit is used to operate the lever of a contact breaker. It has a torque limitor to stop the drive on overload. An electric motor (5), and a drive mechanism operate the lever (4) of a contact breaker (3). It allows remote operation of the breaker (3). The drive mechanism has a train of gears (9, 10) and a worm gear (12). The worm (12) moves a threaded piece (21) which engages with the lever (4). The torque limitor is fitted between the train of gears (9, 10) and the shaft of the worm gear (12). It has a cam fitted to the shaft of the worm gear (12). The cam engages with a spring-restrained shoe to give a limitting torque.</p> |
