Double morticed door lock - has barrel lock operating main mortice linked to second door handle mortice

The mortice lock has a main plate (A) carrying a barrel lock (48). The lever (47) of the lock engages in a notch of a sliding plate (D) forming the mortice (44). The plate has two upper grooves, and a peg on an adjacent plate is sprung to occupy a position in either groove. When the mortice is locked, a peg (49) locks a vertically sliding plate (3) with a hole containing a peg mounted on a further rotating plate (7). This plate rotates with the door handle which operates a second sprung mortice (2). Consequently when the main mortice is locked, the door handle for the second mortice is also locked.
