<p>Device is mounted on a carriage which is mobile on service platform. The machine comprises a tilting and angularly adjustable frame which carries an axially displaceable tool-holder which can be axially aliended with and centred in the tuyere socket. Tool holder can be advanced, pref. subjected to percussion, e.g. by a pneumatic hammer, as well as to a rotary motion about its axis. One or more jacking cylinders are pref. employed to apply axial pressure to the tool holder when the tool is operating, and a single cylinder to retain the tool guide tube in position when pressure is taken off the main tool cylinder(s). To hold the frame in position when the tool is operating it is pref. anchored to the casing of the furnace, e.g. by links permitting angular movement of the frame.</p> |
