摘要 1480388 Woodworking LEDERMANN & CO 25 Sept 1974 [28 Sept 1973] 41808/74 Heading B5L In a tool for machining the edges of boards, particularly veneered boards or synthetic material coated chip boards giving rise to varying tool wear across the thickness, and comprising two coaxial tool cheeks 6, 7 having cutting edges (15), e.g. of exchangeable blades, distributed around axially interdigitating rims thereof, the cheeks are relatively axially adjustable on a tool carrier 2 by an adjusting screw disposed in spaced parallel relationship with the axis of the tool carrier and engaging a threaded bore in at least one of the cheeks. As shown, the tool carrier 2 is cylindrical and is arranged to be retained on a machine spindle 3 by a nut member 4. The cheeks 6, 7 are both axially movable mutually and with respect to the carrier by an adjusting screw 23 which is provided with oppositely handed threads 24 engaging correspondingly threaded bores in the cheeks and with a locating collar 25 engaging an annular groove or rectilinear tangential slot in the tool carrier. The threads 24 may have equal or unequal pitch for symmetrical or asymmetrical cheek movement. Cheek recesses 27 accommodate the collar 25. The screw ends are hexagon socketed to receive an adjusting key 29. In Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the tool is provided with three adjusting screws equi-spaced about the axis of the tool carrier. The ends of the adjusting screws remote from the machine end of the tool have conical surfaces or gear teeth for engagement by an adjusting ring which is internally coned for frictional engagement or provided with internal gear teeth, said ring being journalled and axially retained on the tool carrier. The machine side ends of the adjusting screws may be hexagon socketed for key adjustment.
