Automatic harvester for vines - has guide plates to raise lowest bunches for removal by reciprocating plucking fingers

The harvester has an inverted U shaped frame, on wheels, which straddles each row of vines. Reciprocating fingers pluck the bunches which fall onto a bucket conveyor each side. These bunches are passed rearwards and upwards to fall into a receiving hopper. The lowest bunches are raised to the level of the reciprocating fingers by means of a guide plate (31) each side. This flares outwards on the front edge (36) and upwards on the bottom edge (32). The plate can move about a pivot (39) and semi-circular slot (40,41) to take up ground irregularities, a wheel (42) being provided at the front (38).
