<p>1465384 Bacon slicer CASHIN SYSTEMS CORP 16 July 1974 [10 Oct 1973] 31375/74 Heading A4C [Also in Division G3] In a slicing machine and weigher combination, a product e.g. bacon is fed to a slicing blade, the sliced product is weighed and the feed is interrupted when the weight of this product reaches a preset value. The product is then weighed again and any difference from a desired magnitude is used to adjust the pre-set value of the first weighing operation. As shown, bacon 18 is fed by hydraulic piston 20 to blade 22, and then to a conveyer 40. The feed is stopped when scale 42 associated with conveyer 40 registers a pre-set weight on the conveyer. An error in weighing may occur e.g. due to vibrations caused by feeding bacon on to the conveyer 40, so the slices of bacon are transferred to a second check weigher 34. If the second weighing differs from a desired range, the pre-set value of scale 42 is adjusted by servomotor 56 in proportion to the difference. In an alternative only a single weigher is used and the second weighing operation is carried out by scale 42 a suitable time after the first weighing.</p> |
